Begin the new year by finding out what successful real estate investors are doing — come hear our panel of inspiring women entrepreneurs on January 12 and jump start your year!

2017 is here, time for new goals, new tools, new attitude, new outlook and new.. well you name it.  We shouldn’t have to wait till a new year to make changes, but as long as it’s here, let do it.

Join our all women panel to find out what Local Powerhouse Women are doing to be successful right here in Saint Louis as SSIC hosts Jan Duke, Mimi Wogtech, Leslie Johnson and Brittany Duke.

Jan Duke owns Dukes Homes, LLC, and has been a real estate investor for almost three decades.  She has been involved in hard-money lending, seller carry-back notes, lease-options, renovations and more.  Currently, Jan and her team purchase and repurpose luxury homes in West County.  She works by the principles of the Golden Rule and lives by the motto, “If it’s important to you, it’s important to me.”  Her expertise and integrity have earned her great respect in the real estate industry and she is often asked to speak to investment groups and at national conferences.  Jan is passionate about helping women and youth begin their investing.

Mimi Wogtech and her husband, Corey, own Fix Up STL, a real estate company dedicated to restoring homes in St. Louis.  They moved to St. Louis two years ago, having previously worked as investors in Colorado.  They are renovating and selling between 12 and 16 properties a year, in addition to owning rentals throughout the area. Mimi also holds a Missouri real estate license and helps out-of-state investors purchase properties. And she does all of this while working for a Denver-based baby product company.

Leslie Johnson always hoped to return to her hometown of St. Louis to do something that would make a difference in the community.  After attending school at the University of Pennsylvania, the Wharton School of Business, and the London School of Economics, she spent four years in London as a strategy consultant for oil and gas companies.  In 2010 she moved back to St. Louis, and while working at a real estate private equity fund, began renovating houses.  She and her husband, Phil, founded Newcastle Real Estate and completed their first 10 projects in North County.  Now, four years later and with two full time renovation crews, Leslie has shifted her focus to properties in the Central Corridor, primarily Clayton, Ladue, and Brentwood.

Brittany Duke is a college freshman and began her real estate investing at age 13 when she started funding her Roth IRA.  She has owned portions of five houses and has increased her IRA to $50,000.  Twice she has spoken at national conferences in Orlando, hosted by the custodian for her self-directed IRA.  Her passion is volunteering and she has organized house builds for deserving families in Mexico, has volunteered in Costa Rica, Dominican Republic and South Africa, and has traveled to Haiti with mega-real estate investor, Frank McKinney, where they helped build an entire village.  Brittany is honing her negotiation skills on her college mediation team.
